The Inn On The Loch is a family-owned business. Hosts Steven and Helen Bean have run the hotel for over 12 years, after swapping the hustle and bustle of the London area for the wide-open spaces and tranquility of Dumfries and Galloway.
With a population density of just 60 people per square mile, compared with just over 1,000 people per square mile in England, it's not suprising Dumfries and Galloway attracts most of its visitors from across the Border - just 36 miles away - to enjoy the wide open spaces and stunning unspoilt scenery and coastline of the Solway Firth.
Visitors also come from all over the world to enjoy this relatively undiscovered part of Scotland and, unlike the neighbouring tourist hotspot of the Lake District just over the border in Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway is never over-run with tourists allowing visitors to fully enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
"It's one of the reasons we came here," said Steven, who hails from Lewisham.
The Inn On The Loch is easily accessible as it lies less than an hour's drive from the M6 near Carlisle and is situated just off the A75 road to Stranraer and the ferry ports for Ireland. Nestled on the banks of lovely Auchenreoch Loch near Crocketford, Dumfries, The Inn On The Loch provides a tranquil setting and a perfect base for visitors to explore everything Dumfries and Galloway has to offer.
